Sunrise Radio announces its sponsorship of ‘Rangeela’, UCL’s largest West End production.  Rangeela is a cultural variety show made up of a side-splittingly humorous play, including many diverse and exciting Bollywood dances, a glamorous fashion show and an array of delightful musical pieces.  The play is performed, choreographed and organised entirely by UCL’s students and all the profits from the show will go to the charity Pratham UK, supporting children’s education in India through its campaign Read India. Last year, Rangeela supported Satya Special School (Pondicherry, India) and raised over £5,500.

“By engaging UCLU Hindu Society with one of the country’s leading Asian radio stations, we are proving that British Asian students are dynamic and visionary, yet passionate about its community’s roots”, commented  Akash Pattni, UCLU Hindu Society, Vice President.

Tony Lit MD, Sunrise Radio said, “This sponsorship is a great fit for us,  we are committed to supporting young Asians in connecting or reconnecting with their culture and heritage. Rangeela is going to be a great play, with UCL’s talented students throwing themselves into their culture,  lots of fun, colour, fashion, Bollywood dancing and some great music, whilst thinking of those less fortunate by raising money for Pratham UK.  I can’t wait to see the show!”

“UCLU Hindu Society are really excited to partner up with Sunrise Radio in bringing our Asian culture and heritage to young British Asians like ourselves. Rangeela is our chance to express not only our society members’ talents but their willingness to immerse themselves into our culture.” commented Vishal Patel, UCLU Hindu Society, General Secretary.

Rangeela takes place at the Novello Theatre, Aldwych, Westminster, on the 15th February 2015. For more information visit  www.ucluhsoc.co.uk or email sales.ucluhsoc@gmail.com tickets on sale soon!
